Hello all,

I own a cat named Jazz, he is 9 years old and loves going on walks. He loves running around and is a crazy little guy. He has been alone his whole life and i thought it might be cool to get him a little kitten friend but i dont know if he would like that idea as much i do.

About 3 weeks ago i actually lost Jazz. My little brother left the back door open and Jazz got out. When i went looking for him, i heard LOTS of meowing, i followed the meows and it led me to Jazz. There was multiple other cats there but i didnt see if they were fighting or being friendly. Their are also 2 black cats that come around the side and knock on the door. Jazz always watches them and meows at them. I dont know if that is a sign of hatred or wanting a friend?

Do you think Jazz may want a friend or he wouldn't get along with another cat as he is used to being alone?

Thank you in advance. I appreciate any help :)

9 is likely a bit old to introduce a kitten to a cat who's lived alone.

Sometimes 2 kittens works better, they can entertain each other if their energy is too much for the older cat.

cats are a lot less lonely when they have a buddy to keep them company. they do well in pairs.

You'd better give it a friend.

I know my older kitty (8) was upset with a new comer but they slowly became good friends. I think any cat enjoys a little company but I have seen some that want to be alone no matter what.
