Hello all,
I am extremely distressed as Smokey (my little boy kitten) was attacked, and according to the vet, very bashed up. So he got bitten and first his muscles were somehow affected and he got a fever to fight of the germs from the other cat, however, he then obtained to abscesses one of which went down with some antibiotics. Then the infection spread to a fat diposit near his bigger abscess and his fever came back. He spent 2 nights and the vet and they cut out both abscesses and some of his fat. So he is a sick little kitten! When he got back his sister, Cleo, (who in the past 2 days has gotten an ear infection ) has been very indifferent to him and hisses and sort of growls at him! They were the best of friends and slept together every night, played during the day and more often then not took naps with each other too! Cleo has also been acting strangely toward us, meowing whenever we pick her up and CONSTANTLY running away unless it's food time. Thank-you, Worried mummy. There is a picture attached of the two curled up sleeping together a couple weeks ago. Attached thumbnail(s) |

EWWWWW He smells like vet ..the mortal enemy of the cat.If he had a fight he might even smell like his attacker.
Rub both cats with talc and then use a towel to mix their smell ..rubbing both cats with the same towel..sounds like you might need a bit of the same ..lol. If he's taking meds THAT might change his smell too. Try adding a few drops of rescue remedy to their water bowl too..you can get it from most chemists and health food shops .. I think this will settle down once the vet smell is gone. -------------------- I could be unstoppable if I could just get started.

Thankyou so much!! :D He also has a cone poor thing so he probaly looks strange, though she saw him today while he had it off and still hissed! He does have to take a course of strong antibiotics and she also has ear drops for the infection. Oh well, once his stitches are out he should be fine! :)

Its really strange to see one cat killing up almost another. I have seen this happening at my place.

Poor baby - I think the little ones will be a bit upset until they are well again but Bronnie gave the same advice I would have given
