Hi there,
I'm a new indoor cat owner to a delightful furball named Pickles (who is now 4-5 months old), and she has been growing really quickly and getting some bad habits. Recently, she has taken to playing with her poop. She takes her hard poop out of the litterbox and starts playing with it in the bathroom! Originally I thought that we should simply clean out her litterbox more regularly, but now she even plays with her poop as long as its available. The litterbox is a big tray, uncovered and we use the white-ish kittey litter pebbles. She does not show any signs of disliking her kitter litter or her kitty litter box. She has other toys that she plays with, and we play with her often, but I'm at a loss as to why she would do that. How do I correct this behavior? I cant seem to find any related articles, so I'm really hoping that someone can help me out here. Please help!!! |

Lol ...bored?? Not sure how you can discourage her ...just remove as quickly as possible ...leave other toys around the bathroom ..ones she REALLY likes. It's like she goes to the tray turns round and sees another NEW toy ...giggle ...Maybe try a hooded tray ..she MIGHT be distracted.
It's a new one on me ....giggle But please take a few pics before you teach her not to. -------------------- I could be unstoppable if I could just get started. |

What a little brat - perhaps change her litter so that it is not so easy to get "it" out - she probably thinks - "Mmmmm a nice big pebble" - try something with a different texture and/or maybe use a storage box with deeper sides so it is harder for her to flick it out.
I assume she has pom poms or tinsel balls that flick easily as her toys. It is new to me as well - good luck with her. -------------------- Heather Sharada Birmans

WOWO! SOooo. my roommate adopted a small black and white cat of 2 years and named it PICKELS! She also has the same habit of playing with her poop. We heard her playing with somthing one day... and it was a hard piece of poo. Then the next day we saw her take out out of the litter box with her mouth!!
SO! I think this is a problem with cats named pickles! Have you found a solution? We are super grossed out! YIKES! wierd !! |
