I am looking for some help. I have an 11 month old russian blue kitten almost a cat.
Over the past 6 months she has had problems keeping her food down. I can feed her dry food and cooked chicken without a problem. However as soon as I give her red meat cooked or raw, tin food meat or fish she will eat it without a problem but will then vomit afterwards. Of course then she is hungry and demands more food. Her brother also the same age can and will eat anything and has no problems keep anything down, in fact he is like a human garbage can. I keep taking her to the vet but so far they have found northing wrong with her. I would appreciate any help and advise anyone could offer!! |

Maybe you could try introducing tiny amounts as a supplement with their normal meal and see how your furry copes. Any change in diet can produce responses like that so slowly and small amounts might be a better to try introducing new foods to mealtime :)

She may have food allergies and be unable to cope with some food stuffs. I have a cat that has serious food allergies - when she first started to develop them the first sign was vomiting (followed by a grease coat and ears and then respiratory problems). Once we worked out what she was allergic to it became an easy problem to manage. If your litle girl is allergic to red meat (what species have you tried - beef quite commonly causes allergies) then this probably explains why the chicken and dry food is not causing a problem. Most cat dry food now - particularly the premium brands - is chicken based though some may contain animal fat (?) which causes a problem for Av so we have to be careful which dry we feed. Jo
PS: we also have Av's sister and she does not suffer food allergies. |

It does sound like allergies to me......some of the meat has additives and preservatives in it. What has she been eating that is upsetting her.
