I might be pre-empting the results a bit, but my little George, a 6 year old cornish rex was last week the first cat in Australia to be treated with stem cells for CRF. Trials are still ongoing in the states but so far some of the results have been enormous.

I just want to give some hope out there to the families suferring along with their cats during such a horrible time. i will keep the posts updated, especially so when we get the tests results in.

Fingers crossed! biggrin.gif

Oh wow, fingers crossed & hoping for good results for George. Please keep us informed as to how he goes as this would give so much hope to many with cats suffering a similar condition.

Good luck Roni. I see George in yesterdays Herald SunHerald Sun Article
I am thinking about booking my little Chuckles in for the same procedure.

I contacted Medivet yesterday and they explained about the trials for this treatment but i think i will go
ahead like you did, because i don't like seeing Chuc like this.

Roni, can i ask who you dealt with at Medivet and if possible, can i get his/hers contact details. p.gif

I saw an article in the advertiser, 90% success rate is very exciting and I thought the cost ($2500) was not bad.

Good luck with George and please do keep us updated.

Hi Shirley,

Not the most flattering photo of Georgie! But at least he's still here with us and for many years to come if all goes well.

I spoke to Andrew at Medi-vet, he is the Victorian guy. If you look on their website just ring the Victorian number and ask for Andrew or leave a message, just tell him you've spoken to me. Otherwise email me at veronikascakes@gmail.com and I will email you his mobile number.

Thanks and best of luck. biggrin.gif
