So she is n't a cat, but i still think she is super adorable :P

The new girl is the little one in the middle, the grey one is my pride and joy, Delilah <3
Delilah is a sweety, but isn't happy about being trapped with a baby and wants to go back to her huge cage with her friends lol
They are in a temporary cage overnight because the new girl will easily escape the cage the girls are in, with its 2cm bar spacing.

(For those that aren't sure, they are rats :P I have owned and have been breeding them for years ;) )

Many years ago I adopted a rat that had been surrendered to the Rspca. A beautiful boy, went everywhere with me travelling on my shoulder under my long hair.

They are affectionate and clean companions and I loved him :)

Sadly he developed tumours on all feet and despite a lot of vet care eventually died. The vets told me that as most rats were originally bred for testing and medical research, there were a lot of inherent problems. I'm sure the breeding stock and issues today aren't what they were back then. While I would love another rat friend, with this many rescues in my home,I won't risk a rats safety.

I would recommend them as a friend :)

They really are amazing pets :D
all mine are litter trained and I take my favourite boy out when i go to petshops and stuff lol

I prefer my girls though :P
they all go crazy when i go past the cage, the boys look up, but keep sleeping lol

The breeding stock around now is reasonably better.
There are still a fair few really bad lines around though. Especially in north/north west VIC you have to be very careful who you buy from :/
*could go on about it all day! but i'm done now :P*
