I am curious to know about anyone's/everyone's cat's personality. My cat is very anti-social, he won't go out very much (he is allowed outside) but he is scared of pretty much everyone except his family. I notice that some cats are not this shy and can be very playful. If you have more than one cat, how do they get along? I would love to know!!!

My cats all have their own special quirks - I've one that I refer to as the fraidy cat, another who is very haughty. One doesn't like anyone feline and is the undisputed boss of the household and the last is very goofy in just about everything about him.

Some are friendly towards new people in the house, others more reserved.

Each to their own I suppose.

Every cat has its own personality, but some breeds seem to be more uniform than others. In my 4 Birmans, I have all sorts of personality types represented: (1) 'shy/easily scared and sometimes even neurotic/hysteric', (2) 'extremely friendly and cuddly with everyone, a real sook', (3) 'just a beauty queen and not really interested in anyone and anything else but her own grooming', and finally (4) the 'reserved and distinguished king of the yard who will demand your attention and will earn your respect'. Contrary to that, my 4 Russians are extremely similar in their psychological characteristics - all very confident, friendly, elegant, well behaved and gentle in their approach. But if you ask me about moggies ... nope, each one is truly unique!

That Panda is just the most beautiful thing. The eyes have so much character. You are very lucky to have found her.

Panda Azura - Your cat Gizmo looks just like my cat Jasper... Almost identical!

My two babies are Jasper and Tilly.

IPB Image

Jasper isn't very affectionate to my boyfriend and I, but he loves Tilly. They are so cute together, they lick each other, and play constantly. The way he shows affection to us is by butting his head against ours. He is a very easy going cat, quite content to just lay around

Tilly is such a little sweety, she's only a tiny little cat, even though she is fully grown. She has so many little quirks. She loves pats, and I mean LOVES them. If you put your hand above her head she will get up on her hind legs to meet it so she can get a pat. She comes into our room every morning and meows to wake us up. If we let her go under the covers, she digs at the sheet, slowly inching herself down. Like she thinks that she has to dig to get down the bottom haha, it's so cute! If I meow at her, she will meow back, and it goes on and on lol. She loves to chew on things and if you have something lying around, she will come up and swipe it in her mouth and trot off into a corner to chew on it. She always walks around with her tail up in the air

Tilly is also so curious, and a little mischief maker. She has broken my laptop screen before, chewed through numerous bamboo needles. She is just too curious for her own good lol. I actually tell her off and say 'curiousity killed the cat, Tilly' - I'm such a weirdo when it comes to my cats :)

Both my cats are quite wary of strangers, I wouldn't say scared to the point of hiding, but it takes them awhile to warm up to people. They seem to be able to tell when someone is a cat person

My cats are all the same breed and all very similar in personality. They are very playful and outgoing, greet visitors at the door and roll around asking for tummy rubs, yell at anyone who stops patting them lol
All lap cats when not racing around like lunatics, anyone sitting down here gets a cat or 3 in their lap.

The desexed pets all get along, and most of the entire girls. They all hang out as a group and sleep together, very rare to find a cat on their own here - this also works well when creating mischief so no single kitty can be blamed.

I had 2 persian cats. They were very affectionate and playful. However, the white one was a bit destructive. She always liked to jump on tables and break things.

My Birman boy is affectionate to people.
But the best way to describe him towards my young raggie girl is a cat-version
of Mr Darcy.

My Penny is a bit of a skank in the way that she will gladly run up and greet any person at my door regardless of whether she's met them before or not haha. She's very loving, follows me everywhere.

She will wait patiently at the door while I go to the bathroom. She will wait patiently at the door or window while i'm hanging the washing out.

She loves to play, and usually initiates game playing to the point that you had better dare not say no! lol She has slept on my bed every single night by choice since I have had her. :)

Honey my Tortie is as naughty as can be but in a most loveable way.

Raidon my Selkirk Rex is a big curly, cuddly Teddy Bear with the most lay back chilled out nature. He loves everyone and everyone loves him.

My cat is a Scottish Fold/Rag Doll Cross that we ended up keeping after her owner refused to pick her up after we agreed to take care of her for the summer. She's fit right in with the family and is a true gem of a cat. She is so calm with the kids it is amazing, and is a great companion for us all. She alternates who she sleeps with every night, and keeps right to the same schedule which is pretty impressive.

With five cats I have a fun bunch ..I like quirky cats so none of them are couch potatoes.
In order of foolishness ..the most outrageous is my devon , 7 and blue point,..plays hard, loves hard ,plays fetch and thinks the big fluffy boy is a GREAT playmate.
She has two buddies ..the maine coon large fluffy brain free 2 and a bit ,but keen to play and groom me .., and the matriarch of the house my 16 yr old choc tortie burmese ,wild in her own way ..the girls gallop around playing chasies. But Fluff, the boss takes no nonsense from the big boy..lol
The next on the list is a large burmilla short haired boy, 5 yrs ..no brain ,loads of galloping and chasies, and his bestie a cream burmese girl age 11.
So all characters, and all smoochy ..just how I like'em.
