My older kitten Dex is only two months older than Mackie but he is definitely the boss until dinner time. They will come to dinner and Dex will sniff it take a bite and walk away then Mackie will go and eat all the food in both bowls then Dex will come back to nothing. I then put more food out for Dex and Mackie will race over and devour it all. If I lock Mackie away to let Dex eat,he won't, I am frustrated

For now, as it is important for the young'uns to eat well ..separate feeding areas and times will do.
I have 5 cats and three feeding stations ..there is always somewhere free for a cat to eat ..lol

What about if you move the dishes well apart - different ends of the room? That might work - or even put a 3rd dish so that if Mackie wants to be a hog he can't commandeer all 3 bowls. I would simply be returning Mackie to his own bowl and encouraging the other fellow to go to his.

Do you feed dry food? Maybe leave a free feed bowl down 24/7 so there is always food available. Mackie will pig out to start with but it loses some of the attraction if it is always available.

nothing is working..I put 4 bowls down in seperate areas and Mackie will eat them all,
it is really weird....they get along great and cuddle and everything but if Mackie goes to the food bowl, Dex will walk away and not touch the food..Dex eats when I hold the bowl to him but only a few bites then gets disinterested..
