hey guys! Im a foster carer for a no kill shelter based in brisbane and just hoping to meet some like minded people!

is anyone else from little paws on here?

i foster kittens 4 weeks to 9 months and am hopefully learning to bottle feed soon =] has anyone got any experience with this? is it worthwhile?

anyway im just hoping to meet a few people, hear some foster stories and see some pics of all of the lovely fosters out there!

ive posted some pics of my guys. The first is my manx who i adopted, he was a stray =/ the second is a little feral im trying to tame and the rest are just kittens ive had! Sorry for all the pics its just so hard to choose!

thanks, Jazz

It's hard to resist a little kitty in a jumper!

I'd be sure to learn how to bottle feed if I had the opportunity. A friend of mine once took on a litter of kittens that were only a few hours old and if she didn't know how, they all would have died.

There are a couple of members who are and have been involved in rescue and fostering, some who are breeders - I'm sure they'll be happy to pass on their knowledge and advice.

Welcome Jazz and good luck!

haha yeah that was winston, he was adopted sooo quickly! we had people wanting us to ship him around australia =]

have you fostered yourself? your avatar actually looks like our little feral. The cutest little eyes, but still so scared of humans =[

thats great that your friend did that! im hoping to get the little ones that the RSPCA plans to euthanize... when theyre under 500g. I usually only get the ones that are eating solids

thanks!

I'm a volunteer for a rescue group in Sydney. Our living situation at the moment doesn't allow me to foster but I help out in as many other ways as I can. I have fostered (hand raised two kittens about 5 years ago) and a few months ago, we did emergency/temp care for two semi ferals. Rescue work is so rewarding. :)

actually use a small syringe with my kittens rather than a bottle - that way it does not matter if they are too weak to suckle, and I know exactly how much they have gotten. Good luck with your fostering
