Hello all

I would like to know if there are any differences in temperament between the 4 breeds. From reading about them it appears not or very little. But what do you lovely cat enthusiasts think?

I love their looks and one day hope to get 2 of ?? Can't decide :)

Thank you in advance.

I breed all these as well as the Foreign White (both Shorthair & Longhair). They are all a Siamese breed, just with variations in coat colour and pattern & length and also eye colour. Same cat, different overcoat.
Some (not all!) of the longhairs are quieter than the shorthairs but basically they are all the same cat in a different overcoat, with the physical structure being identical in all these breeds, although the longer coat tends to give Balinese & Javanese a softer, less angular apearance.
Dee is absolutely correct re. the coat and the shedding.
I have Balinese and Javanese (Oriental Longhair) kittens at the moment, as well as some shorthair Siamese and Orientals.
There is a huge range of colours and patterns these days.
The coat should be a single, silky coat that lies flat, with a plumed tail and feathering on the britches. It is not a long coat at all and should not be fluffy or thick, although this tends to sometimes occur in kittens that are of heavier boning and less extreme (non show quality) type.
