Hi! I am a newbi and look forward to sharing my stories and antics with you. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on my dear wee puss, Pumpkin. She has always had the usual baldish spots above her eyes but just the other day I noticed the area above both eyes was a little scabby. It dosn't seem to irritate her and is not serious looking but if it gets worse I will surely be taking her to the vet. I think it could be a little Solar Dermititis and am ceratainly hoping it is not ringworm (do not believe so as it is above both her eyes) or could it be mites (cannot see flea's or mites)?? I look forward to hearing your advice and I appreciate anything you can tell me.

It could be mite, some are microscopic and even on a skin scraping test they are unlikely to be visualised.

The other possibility is flea allergy dermatitis, it only takes one flea to cause it and each time they are bitten, it builds up an even bigger reaction.

There are other causes but a vet diagnosis is the only way to be certain.

Mange is another possibility... another microscopic mite, but unlikely due to being so localised. Would definitely be getting checked by vet, you don't want it to do any damage to the eyes, as this could be permanent. Good luck!
