Hi guys,
I'm looking about for a second hand stand-alone outdoor cat enclosure, that can be modified to have a run attached to it from the house (window) to the enclosure, and that can also be collapsed/pulled apart for transport. It doesn't need to be enourmous, and I can add anything to it that I need (ie shelter/shelves/etc) so all I really require is that it is secure and can't be escaped from. Doesn't need to be schmicko condition. I can only really afford to pay $250-ish max and can travel a reasonable way to pick it up. I live in the Bendigo area. Thanks! |

Do you have a Freecycle up your way? That might be worth a try. I use a chook house for my outdoor run

For a portable one look at the "pet tents" here: http://www.crazysales.com.au/buy-pet-supplies/pet-playpens
I have the ones shown on the second picture. They can be connected to a double- or triple-tent, too, as they have two doors each on their sides, and they are phantastic for travelling as well as for raising kittens between 4 and 10 weeks indoors (as mum can jump in and out, but the kittens stay confined), and the kittens can enjoy safe outdoor time in them, too. They can be used with or without the supplied floor and top-cover, and fold up easily and flat into the supplied bag. I always take these "tents" along when I travel with cats, and usually, when I show those "tents" to the motel or caravan park managers, most of them will even allow the cats inside the rooms or cabins if I promise that the cats or kittens will remain fully enclosed at all times. An excellent product which makes travelling and camping with cats, as well raising kittens, really safe, easy and fun. -------------------- Breeder of Russian Blues and Whites in SA

Thanks heaps CF, I remember bringing a portable cot for my baby to camps or outings, this was 8 years ago, never knew that Im going to do it again for my poor cat. Normally I get my neighbour to mind the cat each time we go away or well Im trying to bring him along to our next trip. thanks.
Actually i just came back fm bunnings trying to see if its much easier to do it myself. I can see that my clothes line area quite narrow could be a good place for the enclosure all i need is wire mesh on top to stop him from climbing over the fence and I need a thick wired door for me to get in to put up my clothes up. going to cost me perhaps less than $100.Erm shall see.Pray for me. -------------------- “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.” RUMI
