My boys need a new home - free to good home Options

I am getting married later in the year, and my fiance is allergic to my boys, so most reluctantly they need to find a new loving home.
They are brothers, and I don't want them to be separated. They are both about 6 years old, are microchipped, and desexed.
They are grey colour tabbies. They were originally rescued by a friend of mine from a bad situation when they were young, so sometimes need a little time to warm up to new people, but once they do they can be the most lovable cats. They get along well with my kids, and love to snuggle in my lap.
Boris is a big fat lazy bones, and Amos is his skinny little brother.

They have been both indoor and outdoor cats, currently they come and go, but they have been house trained. Come with 2 carrier boxes, well used scratching pole, sleeping basket and litter box.
We are in Geelong, but can assist in bringing them to Melbourne or similar distance.

Theyre lovely cats & a shame to give them
up. Has your boyfriend tried antihistamines such as Loratadine? Im allergic to one of ours however can control the symptoms vast majority of the time

I believe you can have injections that will treat the allergies.....perhaps your boyfriend could look into this before you part with these sweet babies.

They are both gorgeous, it would be sad for them to be rehomed without exploring treatment options.

Okay, so I can also add some advice how your fiancé can control his allergy - from the naturopathic point of view: Make him drink Barley Grass or Wheat Grass juice - you can buy them in powder form in health food shops or over the Internet. They don't taste too bad when mixed into a glass of orange or apple juice in the morning, or spread into a salad or stir fry at lunch time. One tablespoon per day is often enough to stop any allergic reactions, plus it will give your (his) body extremely rich nutritional support. Another 'secret' to boost the immune system is Lactoferrin, an enzyme derived from milk, available in capsule form and also purely natural.

However, if you have really decided to give your cats away, just google "Cats for sale Australia" or something similar, and you will be able to find several very popular websites where you can advertise them for free. Some are specifically local, such as 'gumtree'. A quite comprehensive list of all these websites was not long ago published in another cat forum, 'catworld'. (Always put www. in front and .com.au behind those catchwords).

I am also allergic to SOME cats, and have found that if I don't actually cuddle the cat in question, I don't get the reaction, even if the cat is around me.

I've found the 180mg Telfast (1 tablet daily), is extremelly effective and I don't get the sneezes and itchy eyes at all if I've taken that. Many people take this long term with no problems.

Perhaps your fiance could see a doctor and have a chat about it? It would b worth it not to give up those lovely cats, which I'm sure will be heartbreaking for you to have to do.

If it was my partner who had pets and I was allergic, I would try anything possible so that they never had to make that choice

thanks everyone for you kind replies and thoughful suggestions.
unfortuately, I have already been through the medication route with my fiance, and its not going to be her thing.
I have checked with all my friends and relatives, but can't find anyone to take the boys.
I will miss them alot, but it has really come to the point with her that it is either them or her

My thoughts - she is being REALLY selfish to give you that ultimatum!
I already told my (now husband) when we met that if he didnt get chosen by the animals or if there was a problem, I wouldnt continue the relationship as THEY were there first!

The stark reality is that if you dont know someone who can take them in and you have to surrender them, they are likely to be pts by a shelter due to the overcrowding situation :(

I wish I would help... but we are already full to the brim.
