Hi all :)

A few days my kitty (Max) had a run in with our neighbour (Bad Kitty, as we call him). He does have one or two scratches, and I am paranoid about him getting an abcess or having a fever from this. I think I have convinced myself that he has a fever and feels warm, and is acting strange. Trouble is, he is always a little weird and keeps my lap warm so I don't know if I am just imagining things!

Are there any tell-tale signs that he has a fever? I have an old thermometer, so could check his temp, but I don't know what is a normal kitty temp (any technique tips would be appricated - I may risk losing an arm).

Thanks in advance for your help!

Inywhere in the 37.5-38 degrees C is nothing too much to worry about.

Any moderate to severe T might induce lethargy, irritability and or vomiting and might put them off their food as well. If you are really worried take your baby to the vet to be on the safe side and get him checked.

Yes, put a thermometer about an inch up his bum. If it is higher than 38.3, he has a fever. Also, the less he objects to the thermometer being up there, the sicker he is..*S*

Davet.... LOL. We Aussies we use that expression a lot.

If we don't like something we might tell you to stick it up your bum! d.gif
