Some waste of oxygen dumped 3 baby kittens (2-3 weeks old) that were flea infested and smelt like rotten fish into a plastic bag and left them in a park down here. It is a stinking hot day. A lady found them and took them to the vet where one died.
One of our carers has the other two now. They were covered in fleas and they are like bags of bones plus dehydrated. One in particular is not doing very well so please everyone send lots of good wishes down south to these two.
We have given them fluids, washed and picked as many of the fleas off as possible and now they are tucked up with a full belly.
I will get some photos later. They are very pretty kittens so everything crossed that they make it.

Hi,
Good luck with them both and I'm sure they are getting the best of care! It amazes me all the time how 'wastes of oxygen' do this to animals - surely they can leave unwanted pets at a vets or animal sanctuary of some kind! I hope all goes well for these two.....
Best wishes,
Mutare

I popped around to see them and helped feed them :) The little red silver tabby boy is doing really well and is purring (bless him). The black silver tabby is much better but still struggling but did purr when I patted him. I have some photos which I will download later.

What mongrels!! The depths to which some people stoop with their behaviour is amazing - I can't believe a person would do that even that I here of things like that way too often.
Hope the little fellows hang in there....you will be very very rewarded if you can save them.

Here are some photos of the two kittens. They are doing quite well today so let's hope it continues! They are both males.

I have just been around to give them some lunch and the little black silver boy ate some BBQ chicken. The red silver boy spat it out

but drank a lot of milk.
They are very cute and start purring as soon as you touch them.

They are sooo adorable!!
I really can not fathom someone doing that sort of thing it's just totally beyond me

waste of oxygen is soo true
I'll definately be adding them into my prayers along side Charley who is still with us and purring & slowly putting the weight back on finally
How far "south" are you? I'd love to provide a forever home, but I have a feeling your talking Victoria? We're coming down that way to Melbourne to go to Tassie end of January/early-mid Feb if you have trouble finding a forever home

I'm down that way all the time! My sister lives in Wollongong

so let me know how they go and if you have trouble finding forever homes I'll talk my husband into letting me take them

I'm succesfully converting him to a cat person

however poor Charley has undermined all my work by peeing on him everytime he picks her up

I just tried to look at your DCH animal adoptions link but the page wouldn't open??

they are very cute. not as cute as my baby, though ;)
kittens start to make a clicky noise at about 5-7 days that is to let the mother cat know they are happy and content. This little noise made the 2am feeds bearable. This then turns into the classic purr we all love. By about 5 weeks the purr is the classic harley noise.
My baby, who is now 6 weeks old and weighs a whole 250g, is purring full force. I love it.
If there is any more info people would like on kitten development and milestones, I can let you know.

Sadly the little black silver tabby boy took a bad turn yesterday and lost his fight for life. Such a shame as he was doing quite well until yesterday. The other one is now lonely but is doing really well - fat and playing now :)

R.I.P. little fellow...at the very least he did not die alone in a plastic bag in the park and knew a little bit of kindness in his life - poor little mite.
