Mine were all rescued too. I had 8 at one stage, but over the years they have dwindled to 2. I also have Mango cat who is aged 23 and a half. I also have 4 rescued dogs. hh.gif

You can get some basic information on YahooGroups, just go over and search on 'feral cat' and join those groups. Most of those have small shelters and individual people who do feline rescue and operate with the public. They can update you on what you need to do to become non-profit, as well as the upsides and downsides.

Remember that the animal rescue won't be paying your living expenses, this is usually volunteer work and does take a large amount of your time.

I'd also say do a local search or contact your city's animal control to find the names of the local small groups in your area - they'll give you phone numbers and you can arrange to go over and discuss this field with the people already in it.

I'd also do online research. Go to google and type this in ---- operating a non-profit animal rescue

you need to rescue your cat from Street Dogs and other animals... They can harm your sweet baby...

My son and husband rescued another cat as a present for me on Mothers Day. He was on death row and they drove 4 hours to get him. He is yet another ginger boy cat as they know I cant resist the gingerboys.

He is 2 years old and has settled down perfectly with the other cats and four dogs. Amazing really as they had no details on the cats history except to know he was abandoned at a rental house when the owners left in the night without paying their rent. He had a collar on him that had become so tight as he had grown that it had eaten right into his neck and had to be operated on to remove the collar. He was on his last day on death row. i.gif

I find it so hard to understand how humans can do something like this. At least he is now safe & loved. Thank you

Many cats continue to be killed in shelters, including purebred. Thus, organizations such as Myanmar cat rescue organization has been formed to save the cats of special varieties.

Hi, I'm new here, and this is my first day on this forum. I am happy to meet some other cat rescuers here, too!

Of course, I haven't read all the previously posted messages in this forum, just a few, but I am interested and wonder whether you know of the websites and forums where I am active from time to time. Perhaps we already know each other from those sites, or perhaps you have been desperately seeking to find likeminded people for quite some time... (?) I am not sure to what degree advertising of other websites is allowed here, so I give you the sites with spaces.

First of all, please look at, and definitely watch the videos, at - deathrowpets. net - and join the forum there, too. There is lots of good advice there how to support our cause effectively.

Secondly, there is this page - petrescue. com . au - where you can get approved to post your rescued animals for adoption, and it is free and in most cases succesful! You only need to write a short letter to the moderators about what you do, and why, and you must make sure that your rescue animals are all desexed and are given away at reasonable prices (at vet cost refund). I hope that helps you guys and girls a bit to continue your good work. hh.gif

Wild or feral cats are trapped, taken to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and other diseases, ear tipped, and then returned to his country in food keepers of rights and care for them in the colonies.
