My outdoor enclosure floods every time it rains and so i gave up on it :P

Today i brought two big, tall ferret cages to put the cats in at night, thinking one wouldn't be big enough for both of them.. but as it turns out, they are massive!

at the moment, ive still got the levels it came with, but eventually i will replace them with something more sturdy, cats aren't quite as light in weight as ferrets :P

When we work out our current housing situation (Ricky wants to move interstate) I will join the two cages together and make an awesome kitty palace :D

Panda is currently in the one that is setup, testing it out :P

I will post photos of the cages later :D

Does anyone else keep their cage locked up at night?

They sound fantastic. We have a hen coop with a run to the house & the cat flap from the house to the run is always unlocked, but I always have a padlock on the outside cage

My guys are inside at night ...but the enclosure is locked during the day...
Panda Azura
mine are inside at night too, but my house is open plan and i don't like them on the benches at night

This is one of the cages

Panda hasn't quite worked out the ladders yet and so jumps from shelf to shelf and the whole cage shakes lol
When i redo the levels, i will make wider ladders so she feels more safe (i think that is the problem :P)

I am going to put another ferret cage that is approx. half the size of these two, between them to join them together

I have decided i am only going to put a small scratching post in the bottom (of each cage), one of those ones with the house box down the bottom, then the actual scratching post and a platform on top.

I am going to make them a couple of hammocks too :D

I am also going to get water and food bowls that hang on the side of the cage, so they don't move so much if the shelf they are on isn't very stable

To me, those are too small, I know some keep kittens in them for a short time but not adults.

I'd get over them being on benches and just get in the habit of wiping them down.

i just realised i didn't mention it, but the cage i will be putting between them, to join them together is the same size as them again, but the doors are positioned awkwardly, so it will be going horizontally and giving them more floor space
They will be a more reasonable size when i am done :P

Honestly as Chocolatedots says ..just wipe the benches over before you play there ...cos you CANT watch them all the time ..muahahaha!!!
Its not the size of the cages ..it just seems overkill to me ..lol..
Serena
Are the cats just going to be in there for the night and allowed out during the day?
Panda Azura
YES! lol

I put them in when i go to bed and let them out as soon as i get up
