How to Kill and Get Rid of Fleas in your House and on your Pets

1. You must treat your pets and your house for fleas on the same day.

2. First vacuum your house thoroughly. That includes under beds and furniture. Use the vacuum nozzle attachment for corners, crevices and around baseboards.

3. Spray all floors, rugs and pet bedding with an insecticide that contains IGR. You can use an aerosol spray, pump spray, flea bomb or fogger but it must contain the ingredient IGR. This is very important.

4. If your pet goes outside you will also have to spray outside the house. You can use the same insecticide that you use inside the house. Spray patios, kennels, gravel and sandy areas. You do not need to spray areas such as lawns or areas in sunlight. If your pet goes under your house you may also need to spray there.

5. Wash all pet bedding and hang in sun to dry or dry in the clothes dryer.

6. Treat your pets with a top spot flea control such as Advantage, Revolution or Frontline. Don't waste your time or money using other treatments such as shampoos, powders or dips.

That's flea control for your house and pets in a nutshell.
