Singapura Personality

The Singapura cat is very affectionate and outwardly friendly. They are very quiet cats, with soft gentle voices. They love human company.

They make perfect house-cats with no need or interest in going outside. They are very small in size. Singapuras are gentle cats, but they are also playful and remain so throughout their lives - even  older singapura cats enjoy a good game.

Singapura cats are mischievous and inquisitive, meaning that they will investigate anything thoroughly. They are very quick witted, able to adapt and learn, intelligent, lightning fast and genuinely tough and hardy. They get on well with children and other pets.

They have enchanting personalities, always wanting to please and entertain you. Soft sweet little voices that question you and answer you back. They are truly people pleasers.

This breed enjoys nothing better than to spend time you and the family, overseeing your daily tasks and of course getting themselves into adorable mischief.

You will find that most Singapura cats enjoy being perched on your shoulders, so that they can keep an eye on everything around them and of course to keep track of you. Known in Singapore as the "Kuchinta" meaning “The Cat Of Love”.

With an angelic face, captivating big bold eyes and a gentle deceptively delicate appearance, they have the ability to bewitch everyone within their reach.

Singapura Coat and Colours

Singapura cats have a ticked sepia coat. They come in one colour brown/beige referred to as either brown ticked agouti or sepia agouti. The Singapura's  eyes can be bold green or amber. The coat is short and silky and doesn't require a lot of grooming. They are a very low maintenance breed with a lovely sleek, close lying coat with minimal shedding which only requires your daily stroking, and a rub down with a chamois weekly to keep their coat looking just stunning.

Singapura History

Singapura originated on the the streets of Singapore and were sometimes referred to as the 'Drain Cat' of Singapore. Singapura is the Malaysian name for Singapore.
